Our Story

Blue Butterfly Weddings Founder Lee Parsons had worked within the Hospitality & events industry for over 10 years. Working at some of South wales leading Wedding and events hotels and venues in various roles starting off as a receptionist and working his way up through to hotel wedding coordinator, events manager and culminating in the role of operations manager. His overwhelming hands on experience coupled with his Hospitality Management degree has made him exceptionally qualified to understand the importance of providing an efficient service whilst making attention to detail a key priority, from both a clients and a venues perspective.

In 2010 after years of being frustrated by seeing substandard products and services being provided at the various functions he coordinated and venues he managed, he decided enough was enough, and to do something about it. Over the years Lee had worked alongside several wedding & events companies that had provided exceptional products and services and decided to approach a couple of them, and promote their products through the name Blue Butterfly. So initially Blue Butterfly Weddings acted as an agent providing Chair covers, venue decoration, sweet carts, Fruity Bouquets and other wedding and events related products to its clients using suppliers that Lee held in the highest regard, and knew would provide a top class service.

After creating quiet a good reputation and successful business, Lee was approached by the Directors of Taylor Green Event Hire, who had decided to sell their business and wanted to give him first refusal. Lee Jumped at the opportunity, and purchased their business, Showroom and their stock from them early in 2013. Blue Butterfly Weddings had now gone from a booking agent to a full blown venue decoration supplier, and whilst it was challenging to begin with, this is where things really started to take off. A Fruity Bouquets Franchise was also launched by the team during 2013 which was another significant step to  becoming a standalone company , who were now providing the top class services we were renowned for directly.

Early in 2014 Lee decided to leave his position as Operations Manager within a well-known South Wales wedding Venue to join his own team and manage the company on a full time basis. Since this time Blue Butterfly Weddings has gone from strength to strength, with several new services being successfully added to the Blue Butterfly repertoire. By October 2015 Blue Butterfly Weddings had become South Wales’ Largest Wedding Services Provider, and was proving to be as popular as ever with Brides, due to the stress free all-inclusive packages that were now available, enabling them to deal with one professional, reliable and well respected company to help plan and deliver the wedding of their dreams.

Whilst Blue Butterfly Weddings has now evolved from its very humble beginnings, to now being one of the most recognisable brands within the Welsh Wedding Industry, all clients are still guaranteed to receive the warm, friendly, and very personal service coupled with the stunning venue decoration and the all-inclusive wedding planning services that have made Blue Butterfly Weddings one of the most sought after companies within south Wales to be part of your special day.
